Black Roses Immergrün is the follow-up to Black Roses Playing Cards by Daniel Schnieder. "Immergrün" is the German word for "evergreen" and it fits perfectly the green colorway of the deck. Daniel chose green because he's a huge fan of the Smoke & Mirrors V4 and the Bicycle Eco Edition. Daniel told Kardify,
The Black Roses Immergrün edition is going to be the last edition with the exact same back design. I love the design and I wanted to see it in a few different color when I designed it. Even though I changed more than just the color I also don't want to hear that I'm lazy and I also have a lot more ideas for the future.
The court cards have been updated. It is a little tribute to magicians Daniel have learned from and also with whom he's just cool with.
You'll probably recognize a few faces. For example Justin Miller. He is the King of Spades now. I've already drawn him on a court card in 2014 but with the concept of the 2nd edition he fits perfectly into the deck. I love the passion he puts into his magic and I think I've learned more about magic from him than from anyone else. There were 2 versions of his card. One with a crown and one without a crown. Modest as he is, he did't want the crown. And there was no question for me that Chris "Orbit" Brown has to be a part of this deck too. #theOrbitcrew
Again, backers will get the chance to be a part of the deck with your own face on a court card. Just choose the reward on Kickstarter and you'll see your face soon in every Black Roses Immergrün deck that is going to be printed through this campaign. You have the choice between the King of Clubs, Queen of Diamonds or the Jack of Hearts.
The Black Roses Immergrün deck will be printed by the US Playing Card Co on crushed paper stock and tradition cut, the same as the first edition of Black Roses Playing Cards. Available now on Kickstarter, pledge starts at €10 (~USD$12.5) and the campaign will end on Daniel's birthday- February 19th!
