The team at DNIGMA has just completed the fulfillment stage of IMPERIO Playing Cards. The deck was successfully funded late last year on Kickstarter raising over $10k in funds.
The design of the IMPERIO deck is based on the prehispanic cultures of Mexico- the Mayans and Aztecs. The hand illustrated artwork on the face cards are unique and highly detailed. The Aces, in particular, are truly well done- seamlessly incorporating both the Mayan and Aztec designs.
The intriguing mirrored back design is a variation of the Aztec calendar. The design team took a few elements from the Aztec calendar and gave it a modern touch- thus elegantly merging the past and the future and at the same time giving it a sophisticated look and feel.
The artwork on the tuck box depicts the feathered serpent. Quetzalcoatl as known by the Aztecs and Kulkulkan as known by the Mayans worshiped the same god but depicted them differently. The design combines two prehispanic tribes cultures together.
Kudos to the team at DNIGMA for an incredible first effort. Can't wait to see what's next.
