Riffle Shuffle Creator Space Launches Bicycle Surrealism King on Kickstarter

Here's the second deck from Riffle Shuffle Creator Space! Bicycle Surrealism King is a gorgeous deck featuring stunning 3D visuals from the artist Omar Aquil. Omar’s source of inspiration lays in his studies of Picasso’s cubist rendition of reality.

The master of cubism is famous for synthesizing different points of view of the same object all in one painting. This results in geometric distortion of his images, creating a unique depiction of common objects. Many have been inspired by his work, but Omar thought of a new way of rendering the vision of Picasso, using modern technology- by pulling the signature flattened geometric shapes back into the 3D space.

This way, Omar creates compelling conceptual imagery full of colors, texture, and almost sculptural structures that mimic Picasso’s famous paintings. The resulting pictures give off a vibe of a dreamy surrealist space full of Dalí-like eyes keeping watch over the composition.

Fully custom, the deck features a dream-like structure back design centralized around the ever-repeating gold eye. The countless spirals and cylinders adorned with more eyes seem to mirror each other and the whole image is brought together by coiled copped spades in each corner.

The court cards are the pinnacle of geometric mastery of the designer. Each of the cards from each of the suits has a completely unique design. The characters created by Omar are playful and colorful, and almost completely abstract.

The indices are very simple too, only featuring a subtle shadow. The symbols for spades, clubs, hearts, and diamonds have a unified design, only differentiated by colors; sky blue for spades, aquamarine for clubs, orange for hearts and golden for diamonds. All these colors correspond to all the mainly used colors of the deck, which creates a consistent impression of the overall design.

The Ace of Spades is dominated by a sculpture of a spade in a playful blue, red and gold colorway. The various geometric shapes not only vary in color but also texture, which creates such a dynamic feeling that it seems like the sculpture could stir to life at any moment.

The tuck box leaves showcase the same spades structure. The top and both sides of the box feature a decorative composition of metal looking spirals and waves, with a golden eye in the center. The whole composition is made in warm tones of orange, gold, and copper.

Pledge starts at $8 on Kickstarter. Bicycle Surrealism King Playing Card will be printed by the United States Playing Card Company, air-cushion Finish with the Bicycle Classic Paper. Limited Edition of 2500 Decks.

Also, the Kickstarter Exclusive Gilded Edition (Rose Gold) will be made available. Only 150 Decks are made.

We Answer Your Questions About Order Playing Cards by Thirdway Industries

Not much is known about Thirdway Industries' new playing cards series, Order Playing Cards except that the decks are inspired by dystopian novels and propaganda posters designed by the Italian designer Giovanni Meroni. Here are the answer to your frequently asked questions:

How many decks will be available?
Three decks: Order Imperium, Order Revolutio and Order Electus. All decks will be completely different.

Will there be a backstory?
Yes, like all Thirdway Industries' decks, Order will have a deep, complex and cool backstory - with a lot of secrets to unveil. Giovanni mentioned that this will probably have the best stories yet.

What inspired the Order?
Giovanni mentioned that inspiration comes from Propaganda novels, such as 1984, V for Vendetta, Fahrenheit 451. Old propaganda posters of WW2 (of all sides). Vintage advertising and graphics... and, unfortunately, also the real world of 2019.

What about the suits?
We had a look at the preview page... In Order Imperium, suits are the ministries: Spades is Strength, Hearts are Wealth, Clubs are Safety and Diamonds Truth. All decks will include some special advertising cards about the Order’s World.

Will there be a limited edition deck?
Yes, Order Electus - only 1777 decks made, premium tuck, red cards, and unlockable features.

Who will print Order Playing Cards?
USPCC or Cartamundi, maybe both - Giovanni haven’t given any indication yet due to the recent acquisition of USPCC by Cartamundi.

When Order will be launched?
The Order will be LIVE ON KICKSTARTER on Friday 28 June 2019 at 15 GMT - Milan 17:00 PM, New York 11:00 AM, Los Angeles 8:00 AM, Singapore 23:00 PM, Moscow 18:00 PM, Sydney 1:00 AM 6/29 - A lot of early birds and limited rewards.

Wow! Jerry's Nuggets are Coming BACK!

[Update] The Authentic Jerry's Nugget Playing Cards are LIVE on Kickstarter. Already more than 1500% funded!

After years of Pursuit, Bill Kalush of Expert Playing Card Co. has obtained an exclusive license from Jerry's Nugget Casino to print the iconic cards!

Here's the EXCITING news... the deck will launch on Kickstarter on July 1st! This will be the first official jerry's Nugget Decks in almost 50 years. Bill told Kardify,
... these decks are not meant to be replicas of the original Jerry's. As you may have known, due to changes in card stock, printing process, etc.. it is impossible to copy the original deck exactly, not is that our goal. With these new Jerry's we hope to make one of the most sought after decks available to all.

In honor of the decks' roots, they will be printed at USPCC, the original printer of the Jerry's Nugget Deck in 1970.

This time, it will be printed on crushed Premium Stock and as such, will have a different feel than the originals. Bill continued,
In addition to changing the 55th card, we plan to print the production run on USPCC's web press. This is the gold standard used for Bee and Bicycle cards and cannot be used for most custom runs.

The Kickstarter campaign will also feature some Jerry's branded specialty deck produced by EPCC.  Stay tuned!

What Happened to DropThirtyTwo?

DropThirtyTwo was formed back in November 2018 and had a successful launch with their first deck- The Gamblers Playing Cards. Founded by Christofer Lacoste and lead designer, the company had a great opening month. Shortly after, the company went into radio silence. No updates on the progress of the deck or delivery date. Christopher told Kardify,
Unfortunately, complications of production, management, and other variables, the company took a backseat as we tried to figure out how to fix everything.
Fast forward 7 months, DropThirtyTwo released an update on their social media of images of the relaunched company site, alongside their first release The Gamblers Borderless. The company is focusing on producing the best playing cards in the world, combined with their new direction it seems like they’ve had a great relaunch. We certainly are excited about the direction of the company and the product offerings.

Card Radar: Black Ops 4 Zombies Playing Cards

When you are not trying to fight off Zombies or recovering ancient artifacts, keep yourself occupied with these stunning deck of Black Ops 4: Zombies Playing Cards from Activision.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (stylized as Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII) is a multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision.

Designed by Jacob Anderson (Instagram: @jacobjonanderson), this super-cool deck prominently showcase the iconic Black Ops 4 emblem on both side of the tuck and card backs. The tuck case is embossed and detailed with striking red foil.

Inside, the face cards are fully custom. From the pips, indices, to the courts and Ace of Spades. What I love about this deck is that it has a worn look as if they are from the 1900s, consistent with the time period of the Chaos Storyline of Zombies. The repeating courts feature Tank Dempsey (K), Scarlett Rhodes (Q), and Edward Richtofen (J). The custom aces feature Nikolai Belinski.

One thing you will notice is the mirrored card backs. The beautiful design combined with eye-catching red foil commands attention, while not being overly extravagant. The cards are printed on cardboard so they do not fan or spread well. Definitely a good deck for game nights or a great gift for fans of the popular game series.

These Black Ops 4 Playing Cards is an officially licensed product.
