Limited Edition Card College Playing Cards

These look incredible! Card College Limited Edition Playing Cards on Kickstarter (1st August 11am) is a STUNNING deck based on Robert Giobbi's Card College, one of the greatest magic books as well as the most popular and systematic card magic course in the world of card magic.

Over a year in the making, the deck is a collaborative effort between Ark Playing cards (Instagram: @arkplayingcard) and TCC Playing Cards.

This exclusive playing card set design reflects the classic, elegance, and legacy of Robert's work. on the design, Danny of Ark playing cards said,
When I know I'm going to create a special edition of the exclusive playing card for such a great work as Card College. I am very excited. And hope to be able to make something different that people have never seen before. I hope that this Playing card can catch people’s eyes and can be a classic like “Card College”.

Besides the quality of the craftsmanship, a lot of thought has gone to the design of the structure of the tuck box. Danny continued,
The structure needs to be ornamental. When you open the card box, you will be shocked by the visual impact of this structure. The entire process from opening the card box has a sense of ceremony.

From the animation, the folding part will rotate 180 degrees and pop out when the front of the box is opened. An elegant surprise that sets this deck apart from what is currently in the market.

All sets contain base 3 colors-: Wine Red/Indigo/Dark Green, low profile yet luxurious. The tuck comes with embossing and copper foiling on the interior and exterior.

Inside, the face cards are standard with the exception of the custom Ace and Jokers. This maintains the classic look of the deck consistent with the Card College. To give it a touch of luxury, metallic ink is used.

The card backs are simplistic with a vintage casino-style mirrored designed featuring the logo of Robert Giobbi within a circular design element. The card backs are printed with metallic ink as well.

Also available during the campaign is the luxurious Walnut Deluxe Box Set (limited to 100) and the Black Gold Box Set (limited to 500).
As an extremely high-end and rare collection, we think the packaging must be luxurious.

Black walnut is a perfect choice for the material of the box set case and the first choice material for many luxury products.  The box is handcrafted with black walnut solid wood and covered with fine patterns made by full-page metal ink printing.

Inside, the drawer box is lined with fine flannelette for better protection of cards and finished with polished copper handle. The box will contain 3 color decks: Wine Red / Indigo / deep green (with Gilded edge) and includes a customized numbered certificate.

Meanwhile, the Black Gold Box Set is created with a paper board to make a creative packaging box.
In the process of design exploration, we are inspired by the auto sunroof of sports cars. The goal we want to achieve is designing an extremely cool structure suitable for the card box. Finally, we made it! The inspiration comes from the auto sunroof of sports cars.

The process of opening the package and taking out the deck is pretty cool and unique. The box set is made of 500 gsm high-end matte black cardboard. The whole mechanical structure is only made by paper, and 6 pieces of paper are assembled by hand.

The surface of the paper box is covered with a full-size foil pattern. Within, the box set contains 3 decks: Wine Red / Indigo / Deep Green. Each deck in the set has a unique limited numbered seal from 001 - 500)

The decks will be printed by USPCC on classic Bicycle stock. Pledge starts at $3.95 for the regular edition playing cards on Kickstarter... extremely good value!

Baseball Inspired Cardistry Playing Cards on Kickstarter

Just launched on Kickstarter, the concept for Cardistry Playing Cards was originally inspired by the 1989 movie Major League, as well as a shared love of collecting trading cards when growing up by Mike McClure of Lit playing cards and his regular collaborator Brad Gabbard of Native Tongue Studio.
It quickly evolved into a light-hearted trading card themed deck with elements imagining cardistry itself as a Major League sport.

Inside, the bright bold colorway contrasts the somewhat restrained back design making for a stunning everyday carry deck and makes for spectacular fans. The deck also comes with a custom Ace of Spades, two-toned and recolored pips, and unique indices resembling baseball uniform letters and numbers round out the deck.

The court cards are traditionally styled but reimagined as baseball teams. The red team (hearts and diamonds) are in the field, while the blue team (spades and clubs) are pp to bat. Brad also included one or two faces you may recognize as pop culture references. This is something that has become a signature inclusion in his decks.

For the Joker, if you’ve ever seen the movie, needs no introduction. Only now he’s been renamed and looks over his Lit playing Cards along with his rum.

For this deck, Mike and Brad went all out on the packaging to provide a nostalgic experience from the start. The tuck box design is directly inspired by old trading card wax packs. The Kickstarter only hobby edition goes a step further and comes inside foil packaging made by the same folks that package baseball cards and even have, you guessed it, a stick of bubble gum!

Also, if you ever opened one pack of Baseball cards growing up then you’ll instantly recognize the half brick box, which is inspired by the retail boxes the packs were sold in.

The deck will be printed by the USPCC and pledge starts at $13 on Kickstarter.

First Look at Cybershock Playing Cards

[Update] Cybershock Playing Cards are now LIVE on Kickstarter!

Excelsior Playing Cards (Instagram: @Excelsiorplayingcards) is ready to launch its very first deck on Kickstarter. Designed by Fernando Matias (Instagram: @3dmatias), Cybershock is a modern deck of playing cards inspired by the incredible world of cyberpunk 2077.

The peak of the cyberpunk universe's influence on pop culture was in the '80s and late-‘90s, but we have seen the genre striking back into the mainstream over the last few years. The team at Excelsior wanted to create a deck that could reflect the exciting pop culture hype for the fans and, at the same time, have a luxurious look for cardists and magicians. Therefore, this genre was a perfect match and a good choice for our unique style.

This amazing project is one of the very few 3D modeled card decks on the market. Although it is inspired by the incredible work of Mike Pondsmith, Cybershock has its own characters on the court cards.

The tuck box kept the tradition of the spade as the main art while being embedded in the cyberpunk theme.

The aces are very detailed and quite prominently displayed in the deck. The sense of depth combined with the lightning creates a special effect on each card.

The Jokers were inspired by the cyberpunk world drones, ready to blindsided the hunter robots. The ad card is a tribute to Bicycle and the fans, featuring a cyberpunk bicycle and the name of the first backers.

The deck will be printed by United States Playing Cards Company on Thin Crushed classic Paper Stock with Magic finishing. The most dedicated pledge includes the deck along with a luxury wooden box, specially designed and handcrafted with Cyberpunk art.

[Update] Cybershock Playing Cards are now LIVE on Kickstarter!

Also available during the campaign is the cyberpunk dealer coin to complete the collectors set or as an add-on. Early bird starts at $11.

Bicycle Legacy Masters Now in Red!

Ellusionist has just dropped the Bicycle Legacy Masters Playing Cards in an all-new colorway... Red! Back in 2009, when Ellusionist debuted the Bicycle MASTERS. The design was indistinguishable from a standard Bicycle Rider deck, but the handling and the feel of the deck were revolutionary!

Back then, Ellusionist's goal was sustainability, not feel. According to the product page,
Today, the new Bicycle Legacy Masters achieves both. The all-American stock is crushed to perfection. The process increases density. Same fibers, just compacted. This gives a thin, but durable card stock for die-hards and workers. You'll quit before the deck does.

Inside, the face cards have been enhanced but are pretty much standard with the exception of the custom bold Ace of Spades featuring the proud American eagle. The tuck box is updated showcasing the Ace of Spades adorned in metallic gold-ink accents to hint at its premium pedigree.

Also, the inside-tuck printing and embossing of the tuck have been removed.
Those aren't the things that matter in a deck like this and they add the most cost. A front-line deck benefits the most from feel, so that's exactly where we put our attention.
The deck is available now on Ellusionist for only $7.95! Incredible value for a deck with a cool design and exceptional handling.
