The fourth deck in the Mono collection (not including limited editions), heXa bursts on to Kickstarter sporting a vibrant purple color scheme teamed with the unmistakable pattern work of the Mono decks creating a hexagonal theme.
Funded in under an hour on Kickstarter and going on to reach 300% funding in 30 hours, the deck sports a range of purples, with a bright neon purple Pantone as the feature color – it was a deck designer Luke Wadey wanted to create a real sense of energy and dynamism in the design.
I always want to evolve my designs as we move through the collections, and heXa I feel brings together the strongest elements of the previous decks, whilst offering a fresh look and color scheme.
Countless experiments with color placement as well as line configuration meant that Luke explored many combinations, each helping him to identify what he wanted to achieve in the final design. heXa embraces the use of a single color palette once more, combining with varying line thicknesses and negative space for an un-mistakable theme.
Using a suite of purples, ranging from light to dark, and including a neon Pantone purple as the main color, the deck is designed with the cardist in mind, whilst still keeping a 2-way back design and remaining playable and usable for all. The face cards use border details mainly for aesthetics in fans and spreads, but they have positioned so that they run in parallel to the card back, the lines forming a strong color block when stacked, each suit with a slightly different variation.

The deck will be printed by USPCC on crushed, premium bee stock, and traditionally cut. Having worked up through the stretch goals, there are also two additional decks that can be purchased; the Limited Edition (dark colorway) deck, and the more traditional route of the Chroma Edition.
