Scarlet Edition of Wonder Playing Cards is the second deck in the Wonder Playing Cards series currently funding on Kickstarter. These beautiful playing cards are designed by Chris Hage and is perfect for everyday gameplay and sleight of hand card magic.

Inside, the stunning stacked paisley card back design makes this deck truly unique. The depth created with the shadows and varying gradients creates a mind-boggling and beautiful aesthetic that fixates your gaze on its striking beauty.



The faces look traditional but the court cards have been updated with subtle changes to their facial expressions. Each face is more expressive and alive! The vibrant metallic yellow ink gives the courts a more luxurious look and feel. The red has been updated to provide depth and interest to each design.

Galaxia Playing Cards Hits 250% Funding Goal on Kickstarter

The second Sci-Fi themed deck featured this week! Galaxia is a series of playing cards by Thirdway Industries, inspired by dystopian Sci-Fi novels of the 1950s and 60s. Designed by the Italian designer Giovanni Meroni, the decks offer a vast array of characters and stories to tell as they embark on a space journey to an Eden in another galaxy. 

Like most Thirdway Industries releases, there are three decks in the series: Galaxia Promessa, Galaxia Altezza, and Galaxia Domina. The striking Domina is a limited edition deck with only 1777 decks produced.



Inside, all decks are fully custom with completely unique designs including card backs and courts. The Galaxia Promessa deck features a predominant yellow colorway. According to the campaign page,

SSC Promessa is the Ark of Humanity. An immense, glorious Mothership designed to carry mankind beyond the stars.

 

The deck includes spaceship security, crew, maintenance personnel, and passengers. The destination, Terra-2- a super habitable planet in the far reaches of the galaxy. It’s similar to Earth, but larger, with a spectacular ring system to rival Saturn’s. 

Galaxia Altezza comes in a green/yellow colorway. According to the campaign page,

Altezza is the first human outpost on Terra-2. The flagship city itself is primarily made of the SSC Promessa, which was landed, secured, and reconfigured as a land-based city.

 

The custom Ace of Spades portrays the magnificent Altezza City, the first man-made construction on Terra-2. The deck comes with fearless soldiers, assassins, the royal family, and the people. 

Finally, Galaxia Domina is the limited edition of Galaxia. It reveals the secrets of the Galactic Federation, the organization that founded the Galaxia Initiative. 

The striking deck features luxurious custom tuck box gold foil and embossing. SSC Domina is the second ship of the Galaxia fleet. The Domina is smaller than the Promessa but more luxurious. 

Galaxia Promessa and Altezza will be printed by the USPCC and the pledge starts at $16 on Kickstarter.

Vacuum Tube Space Playing Cards Now on Kickstarter!

Just launched on Kickstarter, the Vacuum Tube Space deck is a fascinating sci-fi-themed deck created by Russian graphic designer Vitaly Sinkevich and produced by Deallez Pro.

Vitaly was born in Baikonur (former Leninsk) and witnessed that analog era of space flights from the closest distance. These old memories spiced with some glamor and sci-fi, and a layer of varnish on top make the Vacuum Tube Space deck style.

Just imagine if at some point in mid-XX an accidental discovery or maybe a small calculation mistake of a man led to a dramatic breakthrough in gravity research. Mankind made another giant leap and the anti-gravity force was mastered and tamed...

That's the beginning of a legend of the Vacuum Tube Space deck. The deck presents a world where analog devices have never been replaced by digital ones. The huge and imperfect mechanisms with the brave astronauts on board were sent by humanity to explore the deepest space. 

The fully custom deck features 56 cards with cartoon-style images on each of them (54 + 2 extra images of Vacuum Tube World locations), a very detailed back design with vacuum lamps, tubes, old TV sets, burning rocket nozzles, analog switchers, and dial gauges!

The court cards feature colorful cosmonauts, and astronauts of the Vacuum Tube World – members of the international crew of some very important space campaign. The custom aces depict compositions with curious components, which are specific to analog technologies. Vacuum tubes are presented in each of the aces.

The deck is kept in a tuck box pretending to come from the sixties of the imaginary twentieth century, where the whole story of the deck takes place.

The design mimics the look of an old TV set wearing a playful dress and everything we like about the playing cards package: the original style with a story behind it, shiny golden foil, embossed elements, and color-printed interior. 

The deck will be printed by Cartamundi and the pledge starts at $20 on Kickstarter.

Enigma Puzzle Hunt Playing Cards is an innovative deck designed by David Kwong, New York Times crossword puzzle constructor & magician, and Dave Shukan, master puzzle-maker. ENIGMAS combines mystery, secret messages, and codes within puzzles within puzzles. All these in a custom-themed deck based on an estate shrouded in mystery called Riverbank.

Inside, the hunt is embedded within four very special cards found within the deck, each with its own puzzle for you to solve. Solving all four puzzles will unlock an incredible, multilayered, eight-step puzzle hunt. Combine answers from every puzzle you've solved along the way and you will reveal the final, meta-puzzle answer!

The deck is FULLY functional and beautifully illustrator Billy French. Billy has masterfully captured all of the bizarre and beautiful elements into the ENIGMAS design. The card backs are adorned with historically accurate imagery from the Riverbank estate, like its windmill and lighthouse. The face cards look pretty much standard and familiar, however, they date back to the early 1900s.

The Good Co v2 Fontaines Available to All Today!

Available today (26 June) at 2pm PST on fontainecards.com, Zach Mueller will be releasing the fifth Fontaine of 2021 to all! The collab deck is the second with the New York-based, The Good Company. 

The Good Company Fontaine v2 is designed in partnership with Russell Maurice’s illustration-based men’s clothing brand GASIUS. The collab features a deck with GASIUS’ characteristic illustrations – this time it’s a doodle of a jester character. 

The Good Co Fontaines v2 is 1 of 10,000 decks retailing at $15 each.

Smoke & Mirrors V8 Images Leak Ahead Of Announcement

Images of the new Smoke & Mirrors V8's have leaked and made the rounds on social media. The source seems to be from an authorized distributor of Dan and Dave decks on the Chinese e-commerce store, Taobao.

Dan and Dave’s signature Smoke & Mirrors Playing Cards will be available again for the first time in eight years. The linework on these cards is just beautiful. Illustrated by hand by Si Scott the decks have been released in various versions and colors. A simple yet elegant design is still a favorite among collectors, magicians, and card aficionado's alike.

From the images, many of the design elements have been carried over from previous decks. The semi-custom deck features stylish card backs, Ace of Spades, and jokers. 

The court cards are pretty much standard but given a minimalist twist and updated red/blue color palette. 

Dan and Dave also "Tweaked" the tuck boxes a bit with a new packaging design. Looks pretty cool! There will be 5 color variants- White, Black, Red, Champaign, and Blue. 

No word on the release date as of yet but we think it is going to be sometime next month.

Kings Wild Project’s Wizard of OZ playing cards drops today! The beautiful deck celebrates the classic story of The Wizard of Oz and comes with an Emerald City green and gold color palette designed to resemble a classic book. The wrap-around tuck box features wear-and-tear that looks like you have the book itself, sitting on the shelf. 

Inside, the deck features original illustrations by Jackson Robinson, inspired by the original William Wallace Denslow illustrations of the L. Frank Baum tale. Jackson told Kardify,

I wanted to push past the tinsel town interpretation and bring back my own versions of the original illustrations. Wizard of oz is a deck full of both color and lively characters that help tell an age-old and loved story.
