Fundamentool, the creators of the Graphic Cheatsheet Playing Card Series are back with the third installment of this exciting series, Cheatsheet Playing Cards V3: Typography. On the design, the team mentioned on the Kickstarter campaign page,

Our goal is to create functional design tools for anyone who is into graphic design or just design in general! We are still in the early stages of our journey; so we need your support to help us realize this project as another steppingstone to give us the foundation to expand our brand further.

This new edition of the Cheatsheet playing cards is packed with functional elements that incorporate custom-designed fonts, logo design references, poster layout references. The card backs feature a minimal two-way back design, to maintain the clean aesthetics of the tuck box and the backs.

The court cards feature poster layout references, perfect for designers who want a quick visual reference to kick start their poster design process. Placeholders are provided so depending on the type of event, you’d already have a suggested layout for all your relevant text. Proportionally, these are a scaled-down versions of an A3 paper (indicated by the white border).

Also, you to present these cards to your client so they can visually see these layouts and instantly get an idea of what they might like, this will help you gauge a better idea of the direction the client wants to go. The design of the aces is simple and minimal to compliment the clean aesthetics and functions of the overall deck. The idea is to also make these cards playable.

Custom-Designed fonts were created for this deck of playing cards and show its versatility! The themed logo design references utilize the ‘Bodgea’ and ‘Teamwork’ fonts and are split between the black and red suits. Each font is categorized helps with font selection based on the type of business your client wants a logo for.

The jokers highlight the two custom-designed fonts ‘Bodega’ and ‘Teamwork’. It features all the letters of the alphabet, numbers, and symbols so you can quickly visualize how each font would look before using it. The fonts come in three weights – Thin, Regular, and Thick so you can easily create hierarchy within your designs.
