A Glimpse into the Cosmos with Galaxy Playing Cards

Galaxy Art Playing Cards is an eye-catching deck inspired by the mysteries of the universe. Currently seeking funds on Kickstarter by Cash Playing Cards the deck features anti-counterfeiting ink and UV illumination on the tuck case, card backs, face cards, and the collector box.

According to the campaign page, human eyes cannot directly obtain all the colors of the universe, but with the aid of astronomical telescopes that transfer the celestial objects’ wavelength into our visible-
light range, we can see the myriad colors of them.

The Galaxy Art Deck puts this phenomenon into a nutshell, we are only able to see the basic color of the deck directly, however, when UV light illuminates on the deck, the underlying layer reveals the real color of the celestial objects’ design elements on the deck.

The back design depicts the spiral pattern of the galaxy. The borderless design allows for visually appealing fans and spreads.

The face cards also come with edge designs representing the gas stars, hidden in the vivid cosmos, waiting for you to explore. The Jack, Queen, King corresponds to 3 celestial objects– Meteorite, Asteroid, and Comet. All the pips and stars in the background are printed in anti-counterfeiting ink… perfect for card flourishing.

Two editions are available during the campaign, the Triangulum Edition is printed in Silver Foil on a blue tuck case, and the Andromeda Edition in stunning gold Foil on a red tuck case.

The GALAXY Art decks will be printed by King Star and pledge starts at $14 on Kickstarter. Add-ons such as uncut sheets, collector set, and telescopic UV Flashlight are available during the campaign.

On Kickstarter, Bicycle Battlestar by Excelsior Playing Cards

Excelsior Playing Cards, in partnership with 3D artist and designer Fernando Matias, had released a deck of playing cards exploring the science fiction pop culture. Battlestar Playing Cards, a deck showcasing different shapes of space fleets venturing into deep space is now funding on Kickstarter!

There are three editions of the Azure edition deck, of which, two are gilded- Royal; with the purple metallic gilding, and Starlight; with the holographic prismatic gilding.

The card backs feature a deep space background in purple color, a full-bleed back design with one-way artwork. The cards will be produced by the United States Playing Cards Company on the classic stock with air-cushion finish.

There is an extra edition of the deck, called Emerald edition, which has a very limited print run and the back will have a green color. The cards will be printed by MPC on casino stock with Beta finish.

The artworks on the cards are all 3d-generated by the artist. From the Aces, Courts, to the Jokers, and the extra cards- the artist modeled those from scratch and have them digitally enhanced to present as illustrations on the cards.

The numbered cards show a series of bright arrangements of the suits lighted up by the neon lights on a mechanical panels background.

The Azure edition will be BIcycle-branded, while the Emerald edition is unbranded. Pledge starts from $15 for a single standard deck on Kickstarter.
