Chris Cards Glow V2 Playing Cards on Kickstarter

0

Only one week remaining on Kickstarter, Chris Cards Glow V2 Playing Cards is conceptualized by Christof Schmitz. Chris loves music, art, and card games. He wanted to create a Cardistry deck that is eye-catching and with great visiual details… to accentuate card flourishes and card fans with glowing, unique colors.

The deck features a two-way back design with the GLOW effect, which is created by utilizing UV-light. Both the back and the front are refined with two luminous colors. The custom face cards are truly unique and only displayed under UV light. The number cards prominently feature a large glowing symbol in the middle, which underscores the special design on every single card.

Last week, we had a quick chat with Chris about the inspiration behind Chris Cards Glow V2 Playing Cards, support from the community, and his favorite flourish.

What is your inspiration behind the Chris Cards Glow Playing Cards. How did you come up with the idea?

I worked on the design for a long time and it is more of a cardistry deck. For me, Cardistry is an art and I was looking for something to make a bigger effect. Printing with invisible ink, I find I can achieve a super nice effect from dark to colorful.

I had this idea 3 years ago but took a while as I was searching in Europe for companies that print such a small print run. I find communication with big companies very difficult if you have not yet made anything. Every question took a week.

With these new cards, I am very happy with the paper and the finish. 300g German paper and butter finish!

We first noticed the deck on Instagram. What do you think of the playing card community in terms of the feedback and and with almost 200% funding, what do you think of the support that you’ve been getting so far?

The Spiel Karten community is really great I got a lot of help and support from a lot of people I don’t really know. Advertising is very hard I post a lot but it doesn’t have the success I expect. There are a lot of nice decks and getting the attention is no longer so easy.

Finally, what is your favorite card flourish?

I love the riffle fan.
