From Card Perfect Magician (Youtube: @cardperfectmagician), Descendents Playing Cards was created to enhance cardistry. The deck is currently seeking funds on Kickstarter and, as of the time of writing, has reached 77% of its $7,500 goal with less than 3 days to go.
The descending design is made for moves like pirouette and hot shot to the neon green ink and thin border made for packet cuts, this deck makes all flourishes look stunning. According to Elijah Myers, the man behind Card Perfect Magician,
I created this deck when I went through a season of depression and I wanted to draw how I felt. That’s how the descending design came to be. Later I got into cardistry and found that design. This is why the motto of the deck is “No matter how far you descend you can always look up.
The back design comes with a thin border and a geometrical graphic of a vortex made with triangular patterns in three colors: green, white, and black. The narrow border helps in creating an appealing and beautiful visual on card fanning. The neon green colorway adds a wonderful effect with UV blacklight.
For the face cards, the courts have been slightly updated with outlines of the royals in white on black backgrounds for the black suits and striking neon green background for red suits. The heads of the royals are slightly titled upwards.
The pips are customized to give it a 3D look. The Aces feature slightly bigger pips, with the Ace of Spades having its own unique design. Both Jokers showcase an identical graphic artwork of a jester hat with triangular geometric patterns.
The deck will be produced by USPCC on crushed stock with traditional cut and air-cushion finish. Pledge starts from $12 per deck on Kickstarter.
