One of the first decks on Kickstarter, Tyler Deeb launched his first Kickstarter campaign on Oct. 3, 2012. The Misc. Goods Co. deck was incredibly successful and raised $147k on Kickstarter, paving a way for Tyler to start his company, Misc. Goods Co.
10 years later, Tyler released the ETC. Deck on Kickstarter. The reimagine now features 6 unique colors built for offset printing. Tyler is color-blind, so he enlisted the help of 3 friends to help him get the colors right. According to the campaign page,
That’s the whole reason the first deck of cards was illustrated only in black and white. If I was going to reimagine my original product — the backbone of my company, I was going to need some help. I first asked my buddy and fellow designer Dan Christofferson to help me create a color language and approach for the cards. Next, I asked my friend Brent Schoepf to execute the vision while bringing in his own expertise. Lastly — I called in a favor, asking designer and friend Damien Correll if I could use some of his color collages to design the art on the tuck cases.
In the process of creating these new color decks, the face cards were embellished with new design details not seen on the original Misc. Goods decks.
A limited edition version will only be available during this Kickstarter Campaign. The Limited Edition ETC. Deck comes with a special tuck case and card backs featuring a decade-inspired design.
The ETC. Deck will become a permanent addition to our Playing Card collection. The Standard and Limited decks are printed on premium grade card stock coated with an embossed linen finish at United States Playing Card Company.
Available on Kickstarter for $19. Only 24 hours remaining!
