Dont Miss Remastered Edition of Ragnarok Playing Cards on Kickstarter

One of our favorite playing card sets is back on Kickstarter! The team at Design Imperator has launched a REMASTERED edition of Ragnarok Playing Cards. This new edition features a complete overhaul of the artwork, new luxurious tuck boxes, and more gods and giants!

Ragnorak is a fully custom Norse-themed deck designed in Denmark. The Aesir (Dark Grey) and the Jotun (Black) Editions feature fully custom pips, indices, aces, and courts.

Both card backs of feature Norse artwork inspired by original knotwork and wood carving designs, both set in a mirrored composition printed with metallic inks. The designs take inspiration from the oseberg and broa art styles of Scandinavian Viking culture.

The face cards are completely unique in the 2 editions and come with a new cast of valkyries, draugr and giants to the battle. All are hand-illustrated in a washed-out color scheme, inspired by the time periods of old mural history. The darker tone of the deck highlight drama, intensity, and an epic battle.

The design elements, particularly the use of runic inscriptions utilized throughout are truly unique and very well incorporated into the theme of the deck.

The solid tuck boxes of Ragnarok Remastered are manufactured with gold & brass foil and heavily embossed artwork that wraps around the sides. Texts designed in golden futhark runes for authenticity.

Printed by NPCC on linen card stock and pledge starts at $14 on Kickstarter. You don’t want to miss this!

On Kickstarter, Kami Playing Cards

Kami Playing Cards, a deck inspired by Japanese beliefs is conceptualized by London-based Edia Studios. Designed by Krishna Da Costa, Kami directly translates to “Divine Being” or God. Although it has a much broader and deeper meaning in Japan.

According to Shinto Religion, Kami is close to human being and respond to their prayers. They have the power to influence the course of natural forces and human events. All of the artworks featuring some of the well-known “divine beings” worshipped in Japan.

The card back design features an artwork of Japanese-style scroll artwork done in a two-way configuration. It sees a crane overlooking wavy seas with a cloudy sky. There is a central red Japanese symbol located in the center of the card. It also comes with a broken border design that makes card fanning beautiful.

All of the Aces featured enlarged pips with beautiful artworks of Japanese natural landscapes. The courts featured the theme for this deck: Kamis or divine beings. These characters are designed as two-way courts with central elements.

The tuck box will be made with premium stock with strategic embossing and metallic foiling. The front side features a crane spreading its wings accompanied by branches of a sakura plant. The back side features the artwork of two divine beings holding a spear guarding the entry to the palace temple.

Deck View: Bicycle 8008 NFT Playing Cards

In 2021, Bicycle launched its first-ever non-fungible token (NFT) collection. The NFT card collectibles called the “Genesis Collection” was designed by our friend Adrian Valenzuela. The Genesis Collection includes a unique drop of 24 animated NFTs from Cards 10 to the Ace, plus the Jokers and the card tuck case.

Along with the NFT drops, this physical Bicycle 8008 deck comes with personalized packaging and a silver hard case shell to the primary NFT buyer exclusively. Inside, the face card artwork features all the unique animated NFTs available during the initial drop.

The traditional courts, pips, aces and Jokers are reimagined in a 3D design. Modern design elements and generous use of foiling make this deck look incredibly eye-catching.

Leaves Winter and Shadow Edition Playing Cards

The fourth and final installment of Leaves playing cards by Dutch Card House Company (DCHC) is now on Kickstarter. Three years ago, DCHC introduced the first edition of the Leaves Playing Cards- the Green Spring, followed by Red Autumn Leaves edition, and Summer Leaves Edition in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

These custom decks are eco-friendly and fully recyclable playing cards to support and help to protect the environment. The idea behind Leaves playing cards has always been to raise awarenesses for how we use the planet’s resources.

The Leaves Winter Edition features an ornament-looking layout of the back design, reminiscent of winter, complete with small ice crystal details.

The court cards maintain their traditional designs but with an updated color scheme to make them fit in better with the winter theme of the deck. Together, this is perfect for card games, magic routines, and cardistry!

The signature tree on all the Leaves Jokers in the previous editions has now lost all its leaves this Winter covered by snow and is patiently waiting for Spring to come again. Now the tree has cycled through all seasons within the series!

The striking tuck box compliments the cards it holds inside. The leaves ornament runs from the front to the back of the box and can create a display with 3 boxes. Once again, there will be NO plastic cello wrap in order to prevent the use of single-use plastics. So instead, DCHC will close the tuck of the Standard Edition with a custom-designed seal and a custom-numbered seal for the Collector’s Edition.

Available now on Kickstarter for $14 and printed by WJPC on their most exclusive paper stock with a butter-smooth finish.

Released back in 2019, SEPAL is one of Dealersgrip‘s most popular decks conceptualized by Oliver Sogard. The deck has been crafted specifically for cardistry and features professionally photographed flower bouquets arranged in a thick bordered frame with a hole in the center and an indent on the top side.

This year, SEPAL comes in a shiny form- the Holographic Sepal. This eye-catching deck elevates the floral elements by merging photography with holographic hot foil- a study in extravagance and water-seeking.

The deck features a white color scheme, representing a dried-up flower bouquet in seeking water. The back design features a new photograph of a flower bouquet infused with hot holographic foil to create a shiny look.

The courts also show the same treatment as the back card- more photos of the featured flower bouquet mixed with holofoil. One single pip in Seven of Spades and graphic elements on all Aces will come with holofoil. Instead of “A” for Ace’s indices, the deck uses the roman number “1” instead.

The tuck box is made with premium textured matte stock with holographic hot foil. The deck cost $25 and is currently sold out during a private release online event last week on dealersgrip.com. Public release soon.

The officially licensed Lord of the Rings Two Towers playing cards by Kings Wild Project will launch in the next few hours on Kickstarter. This will be the second of three Kickstarter projects based on literary works and is officially licensed by Middle-earth Enterprises.

Building on the tremendous success of The Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of The Ring playing cards, which raised $657k with the backing of over 8,000 backers, Jackson aims to create another iconic deck of cards inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic fantasy trilogy. The deck is based on the works of J. R. R. Tolkien and The Two Towers.
