The Return of the Green Man playing cards

The Return of the Green Man playing cards invite you to step into the enchanting world of forest folklore, celebrating the myths, magic, and legends of the plant kingdom. Created by Alessandra and Anthony of Jocu Playing Cards, this series draws on the rich traditions of the Celts, Romans, Greeks, Vikings, and other cultures to bring the Green Man’s story to life like never before.

The decks explore the seasonal cycle through four editions—Spring (Green), Summer (Turquoise), Autumn (Dark Red), and Winter (Light Blue)—each telling its own interconnected tales. Every card is meticulously illustrated by Sicilian artist Alessandra Gagliano, featuring unique court cards, number cards, and botanical imagery inspired by mythology and nature.

Each season tells a vivid story: Spring celebrates rebirth, with tales like the Sicilian Testa di Moro legend and the Anglo-Saxon myth of Ask and Embla. Summer brings warmth and drama, from the Wild Man archetype to Clytie’s transformation into a sunflower in her love for Helios. Autumn reveals darker tales, such as the gossiping juniper tree and Lady Elder’s dangerous power. Winter closes the cycle with haunting myths like the Wild Huntsman’s nocturnal ride and Bacchus’s celebration of the vine.

Theory11's Stranger Things Playing Cards

In collaboration with Netflix and the Duffer Brothers, Theory11's Stranger Things Playing Cards are inspired by the cult-classic series. Each card is filled with Easter eggs from the show, making it a must-have for fans.

The card back design includes two-way illustrations filled with show references, like the eerie grandfather clock and monsters from the Upside Down. Characters like Eddie Munson and Dustin Henderson appear on the court cards, while Eleven graces the Ace of Spades. Turris Octava Playing Cards Enters Final 3 Days

Now on Kickstarter, the Turris Octava Playing Cards by Oxalis Cards draw inspiration from the historic city of Turris Octava, a place shrouded in maritime tradition and mystery. Designed with a bold minimalist aesthetic, the decks come in three unique editions: Coral, Turquoise, and Golden Ocean.

The Coral edition captures warm tones of copper and red, while the Turquoise edition brings vibrant shades of blue to life. For those seeking luxury, the Golden Ocean edition elevates the collection with gold accents, metallic inks, and pearlescent card stock, offering a truly premium experience.

Each deck is 100% custom, with intricate designs on the card backs, courts, aces, and jokers, all reflecting the rich maritime heritage of the city.

Damn Good Cards #7, is part of Dan and Dave’s acclaimed playing card series. One of my personal favourite! This beautifully crafted deck features a retro-inspired, one-way design, with "Play" set in a striking blue and gold diamond pattern reminiscent of mid-century print ads. Inside, the deck includes standard faces, white borders, and no seal, all tucked in a linen-finish box. 

Printed by USPCC on Thin Crushed Stock, it offers smooth handling. Available now at Dan and Dave store for $12.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Playing Cards

Now on Kickstarter, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland Playing Cards explore the whimsical world where classic literature meets the art of card games. This enchanting deck, the first in the new Artists Series collection from Vanda Playing Cards, is illustrated by Bob Case and brings Lewis Carroll’s beloved tale to life. 

With intricate designs, each card captures the magic and mischief of Wonderland, leading you down the rabbit hole with every shuffle.

Created over six years of collaboration, Bob Case’s unique illustrations draw inspiration from the original artwork, portraying the iconic characters and scenes of Wonderland.

Smoke & Mirrors (Relaunch Edition) v2 Playing Cards

Dan and Dave's Smoke & Mirrors V2: Relaunch Edition is a tribute to one of the most iconic playing card designs since its original release in 2007. Celebrating the 17th anniversary, this limited edition brings back the minimalist court cards, joker, and ace of spades from the v2 deck, with a subtly modified back design. It's the closest you can get to the original without the high resale market price. 

This release is exclusive, with only 720 decks available. It captures the essence of the Smoke & Mirrors legacy, making it a must-have for collectors and cardistry enthusiasts alike.

King’s Head Playing Cards

Now on Kickstarter, King’s Head Playing Cards are inspired by vintage royalty and designed by Mexican illustrator Luis F. Cavalcanti. The team from Joker and the Thief make a return, telling the tale of the rivalry in the King’s court, where they ultimately plot to seize the throne. 

This deck series is filled with ornate detail, crafted to elevate both magic and cardistry and enhance any card game night. Drawing on a vintage aesthetic with a regal twist, King’s Head pays homage to early 20th-century playing cards, elegantly updated for the modern collector and player.

Inspired during a journey through the medieval city of Valletta, Malta, Joker and the Thief’s founder, James Milaras, encountered a 1940s cigarette packet in vibrant blue and red, depicting a royal figure that became the inspiration for King’s Head. After keeping the idea on hold, the project was brought to life by Cavalcanti, culminating in a deck that radiates a timeless yet modern luxury.

The Ace of Spades is this deck’s centerpiece, styled after early American playing cards from the 1930s. Every element has been crafted to echo the era’s elegance, from the card backs to the intricate court cards, which have been redrawn in a vintage style, capturing the deck’s rich historical inspiration.

The tuck box features luxurious elements like hot foil stamping, embossing, and intricate interior printing. Each tuck box also includes a custom, easy-to-open perforated seal, preserving the artwork without damage.

King’s Head comes in three striking colorways—Green and Yellow, Purple and Rose, and Red and Blue—all inspired by classic vintage designs. A special edition, limited to 300, offers a lavish Black and Gold colorway with foil stamping on the card backs for an extra touch of opulence. The Gilded Editions are even more exclusive, with only 52 decks per color, each numbered and edged in matching colored foil, making them a true collector’s piece.

Wishers Playing Cards by SEQUEL

Wishers Playing Cards is the first series from Rick Davidson's new brand, SEQUEL. After a decade of creating premium decks like the Origins series, Cobra, and Dynamo’s Abandoned Room, Rick Davidson is launching Wishers under SEQUEL Playing Cards. 

The goal is simple, to produce the highest quality cards at an affordable price. Drawing inspiration from 15th-century playing cards, the Wishers decks aim to restore some of the elegance lost through centuries of less refined reproductions, correcting and enhancing patterns from those original masterpieces.

Now on Kickstarter, the Wishers series features two editions: Classic (standard Red) and Professional (metallic Blue). The Professional decks come with additional color accents and metallic ink backs, as well as a thicker, more durable stock crushed for a softer, flexible feel.
