Card Mafia is known for its fun and innovative decks with cool tuck boxes. From the classic fanning tuck boxes on the Marvel and Arsenal series to the transformative giant tuck boxes on the Demon series. This year, Card Mafia presents another transformative giant tuck box with a sci-fi-themed series, Spaceship Playing Cards.
The tuck box for Spaceship Playing Cards features a gigantic box constructed with many layers of components made of premium matte stock with three different hot foiling and advanced 3D strategic embossing. These components were laser engraved and cut, hot stamped, and then hand assembled to create the box that can formed into a galactic spaceship.
The artworks featured the exterior framework of the spaceship done in cyan, holographic, and white foil. When the box is expanded, it will form a big spaceship, complete with its “Escape Hatch”, which is a special LED component to the structure. The box will contain the sleeve which will store the cards.
The tuck box for Cosmo Pod Playing Cards features a simpler form of the series. It is constructed with premium matte paper, embossing, and three different metallic hot foils. It is a smaller construction with a simple opening. The artworks are done with gold/green, silver and white foil.
The back design features the spaceship schematics in symmetrical two-way illustrations. It features the Cosmo Voyager spaceship, as seen in the shape of a gigantic box construction. The Aces featured power pips illustrated as a pip-shaped spacecraft.
The courts featured a variety of space farers, either humans, robots, or aliens – they come in different classes, from the healing medic to fighting warriors. The Spaceship Edition features cards on a black background with silver and cyan details, while Cosmo Pod Edition features cards on a white background with silver and gold/green details – also with the white-bordered back design. There are metallic inks applied to the artwork on the cards.
Both editions will be printed by TWPCC and pledge starts from $17 on Kickstarter. The Green Edition is an exclusive edition for specific reward tiers. Also, ervery pledge comes with a short story related to the series.
