Last year, Singapore-based Purely Idea released a very innovative deck of cards called Vitrum, a deck with sophisticated tuck case. There were two editions: Spade and Heart; and now Anthony Jhoni is back with Vitrum Deluxe Playing Cards, the world’s first LED Metal Deck on Kickstarter.

The deck’s theme is based on an art style originated from Ancient Rome, done by joining broken tiles to form a picture, also known as “mosaic”. It is named “Vitrum”, meaning “glass” in Latin Roman. This deck, combines beautiful ancient art with the modern tech of the 21st century, creating an innovative deck in the playing card world. Two editions are avialble during the campaign, Diamond and Club.

The tuck box is created with laser precision cut mosaic stainless steel plate with built-in LED lights. The inside of the lid is placed on a numbered chip that is embedded within a numbered seal and edition name. The numbered chip can be accessed by using NFC reader app, a truly modern tech-designed deck.

The back design features a centerpiece designed to resemble a perfectly symmetrical wheel with one single point in the center. This artwork will be done with gold/silver metallic ink On each corner is a suit, showing all four suits on the back.

All Aces are designed to suit the glass-fragment theme. Also, there is a smaller pip nested inside a bigger pip, complete with the name of the suit on the bottom side.

The court cards featured portraits illustrated as glass fragment art, representing four different civilizations. Spades showcase the Eastern civilization of Samurai Shoguns, Diamonds features the Colonial Era inspired by the popular stereotype of Pirates, Clubs are the Medieval Kingdom, like the classic courts and Hearts are represented by the ancient Aztec civilization from Middle America.

Only 400 decks are produced for each edition. The RFID chip implanted behind the numbered seal for the tuck box will make each deck unique. The deck can be customized with different colors for the tuck box mosaic, either into the festive colors or color choice by the backers.

Pledge starts on Kickstarter from $65 for a single deck or $150 for both editions complete with a collector’s box and a power dock.
